2025 Flōrus Fiano – Aromatic McLaren Vale White

Fiano is an ancient white grape from southern Italy, grown in the hills around Naples since Roman times. Its name is thought to come from the bees drawn to its sweet fruit on the vine. Ours is dry and medium-bodied, built on Fiano's silky, almost creamy texture and a fine line of natural acidity. Look for pear and green melon, white flowers and lime zest, with a touch of almond and a saline, mineral finish.

    At the Table

Bright acidity and a creamy texture make Flōrus a natural with lighter, fresher plates.

    Main Protein Pairings

Flōrus shines with light, clean proteins where freshness and texture matter more than weight.

    • South Australian King George whiting, lightly grilled or pan-fried with lemon and olive oil
    • Spencer Gulf prawns, simply grilled or tossed through a light garlic butter
    • Free-range lemon-roasted chicken, especially thigh or spatchcock
    • Chargrilled calamari, with parsley, lemon zest and good olive oil
These pair naturally with the wine’s citrus lift, melon character and bright acidity.

    Sides & Interesting Pairings

This is where Flōrus becomes a conversation wine.

    • Burrata or fresh mozzarella, drizzled with olive oil and cracked pepper
    • Grilled zucchini, eggplant and capsicum, finished with herbs
    • Creamy pasta (ricotta, lemon, or light cheese sauces rather than heavy cream)
    • Cucumber, fennel and citrus salads, echoing the wine’s freshness
    • Lightly spiced dishes (Middle Eastern or Mediterranean styles) where acidity keeps everything in balance

Flōrus handles texture beautifully without ever feeling heavy.

    After Dinner

    Think refreshing, not rich.

    • Fresh goat’s cheese with herbs
    • Young, soft cheeses rather than aged or blue
    • Lemon-based desserts or citrus tartlets
    • Simple stone fruit when in season

A wine that closes the meal cleanly and leaves you wanting another glass.
